Are you looking for a historical action anime? You should come watch "the immortal" Sugimoto, a veteran of the Russo-Japanese war, who has developed the reputation for being immortal due to surviving the war, as he searches for a rumored stash of lost gold. You can't have a hidden treasure of gold without a map. The catch, it is tattooed on several escaped prisoners.
Sugimoto teams up with an Ainu girl, Asirpa, who agrees to help him search for the escaped prisoners and the lost gold. The animation during some of the action sequences is beyond reproach. It has light comedy mixed in this historical, action and drama anime. Based off the 9th Manga Taishō award winning manga, by Satoru Noda. It has earned a spot in our top 3 this season.
