What are vocaloids? VOCALOID (often referred to as just "V1" in VOCALOID communities) is a singing synthesizer application software developed by the YAMAHA Corporation. The project was an international effort, and is considered the brainchild of Kenmochi Hideki, also known as the "father" of VOCALOID, as defined by their WikiFandom page. Currently in 2018, there are over 200 licensed vocaloids available (and many more that are unlicensed). One of the most popular vocaloids would be Hatsune Miku (translated:voice from the future) she is the girl with the very long, light blue hair in the picture. We feel that she sounds a bit mechanical, as do most of the vocaloids. Most users of the software write songs (some being very depressing or morbid) with mild success. Although some users have surpassed many people's expectation of the software, putting together well composed and lyrically interesting songs. For now, Yamaha is fine with the software sales and probably licensed merchandise with Miku.
We would like to see a decent anime with the vocaloids, but for Yamaha, this isn't as profitable as they would like. The chances of it happening are nil, or nearly nil. But, who knows, with Adobe creating their new VOCO software, Yamaha may feel the need to step up their game.

You're probably thinking "If you don't like Hatsune Miku, then which one is your favorite?" We thought you'd never ask. Our favorite vocaloid is Gumi. Her voice is much less mechanical, and with the right user, sounds human. Of course we will share a video of our favorite vocaloid too.
Once again, we really enjoy the music on this one as well.
