Uchiage Hanabi, Shita Kara Miru ka? Yoko Kara Miru ka?

Are fireworks round or flat? Depends on where you are looking from. A film by Akiyuki Shinbo and his Shaft studio animators seeks to replicate the success of Makoto Shinkai's "Your Name" by using amazing backgrounds that captures perfectly the longing of adolescence. Does it? Without a doubt!

Fireworks, Should we see it from the side or the bottom?

The translations of the English subs are a little rough and some of the supernatural events are a little hard to follow, but "Fireworks, should we see it from the side or the bottom?" is a not to be missed work of art. It follows Norimichi and his crush, Nazuna as they try to get together despite her serial marriage mother and Norimichi's too cool best bud, Yuuske. They might succeed with the help of a magical orb....

Really loved Fireworks too. Toward the end, concluded the movie was best seen as art rather than narrative, with many good elements pleasing in themselves but ambiguously connected to the main storyline; some of the differences between the worlds had significance primarily for their visual beauty. The insert song and accompanying imagery are not to be missed. Caution is not to diminish by trying to “figure it out”.
