Another good anime based off of a light novel under the same name, Ulysses: Jehanne Darc to Renkin no Kishi takes place during the Hundred Years War between France and England. Montmorency, the son of a noble, immerses himself in the studies of magic and alchemy at a royal knight training school. In search of revenge for the loss during the Battle of Azincourt, Montmorency evokes the Queen of the fairies Astaroth, who promises to teach him how to use a heirloom stone from his family to become Ulysses, an immortal alchemist with unlimited power. This is a historical anime which has action and drama and with the element of magic has us watching and waiting for Montmorency to become Ulysses. It is definitely one this season!
